There are so many different ways to get entertainment or receive current events. Podcasting is definitely one of those ways, but might not be something you’ve considered. Here are a few reasons why podcasts are a source of media that everyone should engage with.
It’s More Than Just News Reporting
Many podcasts have hosts with specific expertise. Depending on what that expertise entails, you won’t just be getting an overview of a subject such as you would watching the 5 o’clock news. You can take an educated deeper dive into a current event and hear all sides.
You Can Do Other Things
TV is great whether you’re catching prime time or streaming shows, but you are stuck in front of it. Like radio, podcasting gives you the opportunity to do other things like drive, clean, or workout! There are podcasts with a video component, but the awesome thing is, you have the option of both.
Some Hosts Might Be More Appealing Than Others
Network news can be very formal. This might be something people love, but for others, a host’s personality might make certain things more engaging for the listener. Podcasting gives you a wide range of personalities and backgrounds. Many hosts could all be talking about the same thing, but one, in particular, could make that news easier to digest. You can pick whoever suits your palette.
Skies The Limit
If you aren’t interested in news, podcasts run the gamut with content. You can find just about any topic out there, from how to’s, to sci-fi stories, to random jabber. The point is, there is something for everyone, and particularly you.
If you haven’t had a chance to listen to a podcast, definitely get on your computer or smartphone and start looking around. I promise there is something you will like, and if you have a thirst for knowledge, podcasts are an easy and great way to get it.
