Most people love food, after all, humans do need it to survive. Has lunch ever been provided for you at work? If it was, you probably had a little joyous thrill run through your body. It’s nice when you don’t have to eat the bland “something” you already prepared for yourself, or leftovers you don’t really feel like having. A freshly made lunch is especially great when you don’t have to pay for it. If you do feel this way, you can bet that your employees do also. But, aside from being able to avoid their bagged lunches, there are a few other reasons why you should consider buying lunch for your employees.

One Way To Show Your Appreciation

Work can be… well, work. Some days are harder than others, but as a boss, it’s important to show your employees that you appreciate them. Buying lunch for them is a great way to do this and show them that you see them as more than just what they do.

Inner Office Culture

Many cultures view food as a way of bringing people together. There doesn’t always have to be something to celebrate, but a gathering in and of itself is a celebration of sorts. When lunch is provided, employees gather and are taking a moment to be together. Whether introverted or outgoing, food creates an opportunity for employees to get to know each other and improve morale.

Supporting Local Restaurants

It’s important for you to support your local economy. Nearby family-owned restaurants can be supported by your lunch purchases. If you have a lot of employees, this can certainly be a huge profit for the restaurant of your choosing, so go local.

If it’s in your budget to buy lunch for your employees once a month or every day, it will benefit you and them in so many ways. Employees will feel happier, healthier and you’ll be putting money into your local economy. In the end, everyone is happy.
