There are plenty of apps out there you can download to your phone to help increase your productivity, but a lot of us also have difficulty with productivity when it comes to the computer. With limitless access to the internet and various other distractions, it can be difficult to be as productive as possible when working online. Thankfully, Chrome has plenty of resources to help you out if you struggle with productivity while using your computer. Whether you’re a student trying to focus on homework or a business leader trying to focus on only one task at a time when you have a million people and projects vying for your attention, using these Chrome extensions can significantly improve your productivity.

Jot

If you just want something simple when it comes to keeping track of your to-do list, Jot may be a great choice for you. It features a simple background for when you launch a new tab. You’ll have a beautiful, high-quality image and a succinct to-do list where you can add short notes or the tasks left to do. In order to access it, you simply open a new tab.

StayFocused

StayFocusd is an incredible extension; it helps you avoid wasting time on unnecessary sites by blocking them completely. All too often, people spend time aimlessly scrolling through social media. With this extension, you can set a specific amount of time to spend on social media sites before the extension blocks them from access for the day (or during whatever hours you set). There’s a lot of options for customization, which makes this productivity extension incredibly useful.

Momentum

Much like Jot, but with more features, Momentum adds a fresh look to any new tabs you open. The new tab displays a beautiful image and features plenty of widgets, such as a clock, the weather, useful links, and your to-do list. One of the nicest features of Momentum is how it prominently displays your main goal for the day, helping you stay on track.

Pocket

One of the biggest ways we lose productivity is getting distracted by interesting stories we come across while doing research or other tasks online. Pocket allows you to save these stories with ease and come back to them later. You’ll have all the stories saved in one place you can access through the Pocket extension or app and read them whenever you have time.

Auto Text Expander

While this extension may not be for everyone, if you do a lot of writing, it’s worth checking out. Auto Text Expander is an extension that allows you to set shortcuts for words, phrases, or information you type a lot. If you’re doing unique and creative writing, it might not be the best for you, but if you find yourself repeating the same phrases or one word continuously, it can help cut back on some time when it comes to typing it out or looking up the information and spelling.

Todoist

There are nearly endless to-do list extensions to choose from, but one of the nicest is Todoist. You can add tasks with ease, save tabs you’re working on to your to-do list, and view your schedule for up to a week, all from the Todoist tab. There are quite a few other extensions you can sync Todoist to as well as syncing it to other devices, which is pretty convenient. Some features do require a subscription, which costs $29 a year.
